I'm an experienced teacher interesting in earning certification. I've researched many schools, but wondered if anyone could guide me toward reputable schools or steer me away from those with bad reputations. I'm primarily interested in Prague or Seville, but there's a program in Cadiz that looks really interesting, too. Thanks for the guidance. |

If you are looking for an advanced program like Trinity or CELTA and you think that a tuition fee of $2,000 is overly exaggerated, you can take Ontesol's 250-hour online course and practicum (Recognized by TESL Canada Professional Standard 2). This program is an extended version of Coventry House International's 5-week Trinity CertTESOL program (Recognized by TESL Canada Professional Standard 1).
Happy holidays!!

Hi Lindsay,
Yes, the 100-hour course is sufficient for Korea. Ontesol works directly with EPIK (English Program Sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Education) and we'll help you apply for the September 2010 season (You should finish the course and apply before July to secure a spot). We also outsource our recruitment service to a few private recruitment agencies, one of them is a very trustworthy company from Canada, which doesn't charge teachers for their service (Never pay for job placement service as the recruitment agencies get a commission from the schools and it's the school which will provide you with accommodation, return airfare, work permit, etc). |

There are three simple ways to find the schools to avoid and the great and honest schools you have to compete for. Everyone wants a white-listed school because we know they are both licensed and honest and you will NOT find these through agents. Why? Because the black or gray market schools pay the recruiters and agents more money, typically 30%-40% of the moneys allocated for YOUR position.
So then this leaves you the best option which is to find your employer from a White List. If you want to teach in China here is the whitelist...https://www.slideshare.net/LaowaiCareerCenter/2018-cftu-white-list-of-china-tefl-teacher-employers
If you want to teach somewhere else, try this global list... https://www.reddit.com/r/CFTU/comments/kc8e8f/over_3000_schools_around_the_world_that_hire_ap/
And as for the schools to avoid, that is an easy one.... Just look at the two pinned announcements here at https://reddit.com/r/chinascampatrol or https://reddit.com/r/TEFLscams.
Good luck! _________________ Don't send your passport or passport scan to anyone and NEVER upload your resume until you read up at https://reddit.com/r/eslscams Good Luck! |
