Call centers are used mainly by banks and financial institutions. It might therefore be a good idea to contact the HR departments of banks to see how they operate and how they train their staff.
Teaching is certainly needed, especially pronunciation and cross-cultural awareness. I deal with two banks whose centers are simply not fit for purpose because of the inadequacy of the staff's language skills. _________________ Brenda Townsend Hall, Ph.D.
