Hi all.
I'm a 32 yr old Indian woman, with teaching and CELTA certifications. I've had a great time teaching ESL in IB schools in India for the last 7 yrs or so. I'd now like to work abroad while doing my Masters in Ed. I was wondering about a couple of things ...
1. Is it SUCH a disadvantage to be "Indian" or "non-native" or "non-white" or non-whatever when it comes to job opps, that a name change and other white lies are recommended? I cannot believe the people recommending this on the forum are serious!
2. Is it better to apply to international schools or language institutes? How do the two compare when it comes to money, work environ, qualifications, perks, working hours, etc.
Would really appreciate some answers....Cheers! |
