Not sure where to post this but I am adding a link to the Open University Free online classes site if anyone is interested:
http://www.open.ac.uk/openlearn/home.php
Browse topics....One good one is 'Evaluating Classroom Discussion' which uses research by Neil Mercer. I am posting the intro here....but there are other general education workshops while are not specific to EFL etc...they are generally good for enhancing understanding of classroom dynamics. Examples are the role of 'play' in the classroom, managing behaviour, etc...Take a look. Meanwhile, here is the intro the the one above.

English Grammar In Context
http://openlearn.open.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=2708

It might also be a good resource for ESP teachers who need information about business, medicine, law, finance, etc.

Thanks, that's a great resource. I just stumbled in here from google.
I should probably start a new thread for this but I was wondering if anyone who frequents this board has heard of private esl tutoring being done via skype and paypal and if you've heard of much success going that route.
Thanks,
Cliff, |

Never heard of a thing like this before but it's great that interested people get the chance to study online for free. I am thinking of joining one class because I am just curious how it works. |
