I think there was a thread (but I can't find it) throwing out the question of whether we English teachers are helping to stomp out some of the world's languages. (FWIW I don't t hink we are - there are too many other factors).
Interested to see this article on how MICROSOFT WINDOWS is helping to save one of the old (Aztec, I think) languages of Peru.

I also saw a short article recently on how SCRABBLE is helping to save one of the North American Indian languages (can't remember which - not Navajo, but one of the other main ones).
So maybe things will finally start getting BETTER for the world's small and threatened languages. |

Very interesting indeed! Microsoft, the great homogenizer. I like it.
I've always found it ironic and depressing that it is difficult to find courses in Nahuatl language study in Mexico - language of the Aztecs and other tribes. _________________ Life is a verb, not a noun - Now Bloggin' and Working Hard |
