I took the online course from Anaheim University. It costs, last I looked, about 900 or 950 US dollars (may have changed), but I loved it.
The instructor was fantastic, Ms. Keck, the course was written and is overseen by Professor David Nunan (past president of TESOL and best selling textbook author). You learn solid stuff, not Mickey Mouse material like other places.
You take a weekly test and a final test and you submit assignments.
A lot of work actually, but great training as you get a first-rate course.
They are used to vets like me or newbies both.
You learn practical material from some of the best strategies available, and you get a small background in linguistics.
I have not one complaint at all and I am taking their Masters soon.
If you want an easy course with no commitment, this is not for you.
But it is not so difficult as to make you stay up at night worrying either. Perfect mix.
One of the best learning experiences of my life and I graduated from a good university in Canada.
It doesn't have name recognition as of yet, but the certificate is worth every dime you pay.
Can't say enough about it, especially if you don't have the ability to attend a CELTA in person. When your prof is this good for this kind of money, you are laughing.
Regards,
